Dry Eye

Liposomal eye spray with plant liposomes. Stabilises the natural protective layer (lipid layer) of the tear film for hours. The moistening of the eyes and eyelids is thus improved. Easy to use: spray on the closed eye.

Dry eye is regarded as the most frequent eye problem in Germany; more than 10 mn. people are affected. The cause is a disruption of the tear film, often accompanied by symptoms such as itching, burning or foreign body sensation.

The tear film consists of three layers:

  • the mucous layer (mucin layer): this lies directly on the cornea and ensures that the tear film can adhere.
  • the aqueous layer (tear fluid): for moistening and feeding the cornea.
  • the fat layer (lipid layer): external layer that protects and stabilises the tear film. Protects the tear fluid from evaporation. The fat molecules (lipids) are formed by glands on the lid edge (Meibomiam glands).

It has been scientifically proven by many studies that in almost 80% of those affected, dry eye is not caused by the lack of tear fluid, but by a disruption of the external lipid layer.* The consequence: the disrupted protective layer of the tear film results in an excessive evaporation of tear fluid.

HÜBNER Dry Eye works on this lipid layer. The liposomal eye spray is sprayed on the closed eye. Billions of small liposomes are applied to the eyelid with one shot of spray. These reach the tear film via the lid edge, stabilise the lipid layer there and thus improve the moistening of the eye surface and eyelids. The lipid film remains stable for hours on account of this and evaporation of the aqueous layer is reduced.
