The hawthorn bush (Latin: Crataegus) is native throughout Europe and can reach an age of over 500 years; its name originates from its white blossom.

The hawthorn plant was already being used medicinally in ancient times and is considered one of the best-researched medicinal plants today. Its invigorating effect on the heart - particularly in so-called 'senile heart' - has been confirmed many times along with its beneficial effect on blood pressure.

The effect of hawthorn blossom and leaves results in particular from its content of flavonoids (substances involved in plant cell respiration and energy transfer) and procyanidins.

Recommended dose
Take 1 pill 3 times per day with liquid before meals. Not for children under 12 years.

Ingredients
1 coated tablet contains:
Medically active ingredients: 107 mg hawthorn leaves with blossom powder; 42.4 mg dried extract of hawthorn leaves with blossom (4.0-6.2:1), extraction agent: ethanol 70 % (v/v).
Other ingredients: lactose monohydrate, cellulose powder, highly dispersed silicon dioxide, copovidone, potato starch, magnesium stearate (ph. Eur.), macrogol 6000, maltodextrin, croscarmellose sodium, sucrose (saccharose), talc, white clay, calcium carbonate, titanium dioxide E171, gum arabic, dry matter from glucose syrup, hypromellose.
